A new anime has surfaced (Began airing July 5th in Japan) which alot of people are quick to judge just based on some of the art from the series. Many people think of this being timed/made for “zombie-fever” and ….of course…all of the fan-service arguments of it being diluted and cheap right off the bat.
First off, I understand there is a strong influx of zombie based….media surfacing or has surfaced. (i.e. Left 4 Dead series,Zombieland,The Walking Dead comics, and zombie modes in several different games.) Well, I don’t think there is any kind of fever going on, we just all happen to like zombies. I find it really hard to believe people would fall into a zombie fad, if they hated zombies previously. If it was up to me, I would play Mega-Man, as a bloody zombie that shoots severed eyeballs or torsos if you charge it up. However, that is enough digging into secret fantasies and on with the star!
High-school of the Dead (it isn’t all in a high-school…relax) pretty much is the perfect rendition of…well…if a high-school was where the zombie infestation started. Takashi Komuro, skipping class like it’s a thing to do, witnesses a peculiar incident go down at the entrance gates of the school.
A teacher, perhaps the principal, a coach, and yet another teacher all stare at this one intruder, mindlessly (like a *GASP* zombie) repetitively walking into the gate. You can pretty much guess what happens. One of them HAS to check the wierdo close-up (Light-blue cocky fuck). Someone HAS to grab it by the neck and yell into it’s blank face. Someone has to get bitten where they could have prevented a GIANT INFESTATION. Who wants to take a guess what happens next? Anyone?
A. The remaining survivors don’;t bother to find out what happens, freaking out, they run and try to tell the students before things get out of hand.
B. 911 is dialed and when they arrive, they end up being the organization that released the zombies.
C. “Oh dear, is he dead? Let me get the closest peek at the wound, when he twitches, I’ll know he is alive.

The cast gets introduced pretty quickly so I am going to try and follow that pattern. Anyone who colors this dandy gets a prize!!
1. Saya Takagi – A strong-minded and almost insulting school genious. 2. Shizuka Marikawa- The ditsy and boobilicious school nurse.
3. Rei Miyamoto – Komuro Takashi’s bffl and long time love-interest. She is in the “Sojutsu” club at school and whoops total ass!
4. Saeko Busujima – President of the school’s Kendo Club, she is quiet and mysterious and full of useful strategies. + sexy points for bra fighting…you’ll see. 5.Kohta Hirano – A gun enthusiast and the group’s ranged expert hands-down. “It’s a kill-shot!”
6.Takashi Komuro- A high school sophomore who longs for Rei’s love. If he did not hesitate to confess it to her, she wouldn’t be dating his best friend Hisashi.
